Violent protests are changing America for GOOD

What can we really do to end violence when protesting.

 Have you ever been able to picture yourself caught in the middle of a violent protest, if your answer is no; consider yourself lucky. Protests and rallies have always made a difference in America in both the past and present. Fueled by people desperate to make a change, it was not long until that change began to feel so out of reach that people were willing to truly fight for it. Violent protests have made their way into the present society, while slowly dividing our country.

It has always been difficult for me to understand the hatred people could have for their own country until I realized how quickly that anger drove people apart and to the point of no control. It even comes to a point if people can even be allowed to even protest for something they truly believe in before it becomes too much? 

     When thinking of a protest, you can quickly picture large gatherings of people holding colorful signs yelling and singing about what they believe in. It is not often that a person thinks of violence, fire, destruction, and even death when a protest or rally crosses their minds.

Protests are usually defined as a large gathering of individuals making a very public objection towards an idea or action. It is not typical for today's generation to let things go so easily, especially wrongs made by people in power, or people with a platform. Today's society is not very forgiving either, so it makes me wonder why no one is willing to open up their eyes to the issue right under all of our noses. In today's recent world, protests and rallies have become more often, the new norm if you will, but it wasn't long until they became too much for society to handle. Vandalism has, unfortunately, become the new style of rallying and protesting, inevitably boosting the crime and vandalism rates almost through the roof. "Parts of the nation have seen a surge in certain crimes amid protests and riots that flared in the wake of the death of George Floyd.".

Recently, people have used vandalism and looting to get their point across during protests instead of using their voice. Movements like the demand for the legalization of gay marriage are a great example. But with the way people are going about their want for change, the rates of vandalism and violence went so high that people were being charged with felonies if caught vandalizing or looting. Also, most of the time, the government chooses to ignore protestors which cause an incline in crime rates and violence for

virtually nothing. 

The poor influence society has had on protestors in recent years is the pure reason American cities should not be so surprised when they often find themselves and their people in the crossfire of these vicious protests.

Protests often lead to no significant change as well. The results of these mass protests have become one that cities find themselves not being able to handle or even gain control of for the sake of everyone. Vandalism, mass destruction of property, injuries, and even death, the nasty side effects of a human being so hurt they see violence as the only solution. These protests often lead to the division of our society as well.

Legal professionals and government officials already have begun the process of figuring out how to prevent these things from happening, and is often discussed amongst many people besides civilians, and notes have been made in legal documents. If higher-ups in our world, the ones who initially 'run the show', are concerned about what our society is turning into, that should be enough to prove to us that things need to change, and soon. "The author's views on the security measures that can be implemented by security professionals in preventing violence and disruptions during riots, mass protests, and other events in the U.S."  Protests have always been a way to have your voice heard and seek change, but recently, they have only brought violence, hatred, negativity, and a major burden to society.

      The question being raised is should protesting be a human right anymore if it causes this many issues in America. These protests spark opinions that are being brought on by major social issues. Violent protests are slowly taking over our world with a steady incline in destruction among cities and towns, deaths, vandalism, and crime rates. The government does not always listen to the outcry of societies begging for change, which makes the destructed cities and tragedies worthless. More people end up in jail and without jobs, which does not benefit society. In conclusion, protests have their pros and cons, but the violent protests that end in burning cities and death are not worth their destruction they cause.
